Gary Wayne Smith

Gary Wayne “Buddy” Smith of Agra was born October 16, 1940, in Cushing, Okla. He died Friday, October 15, 2021, at the age of 80 years.

Smith, a 1958 graduate of Ponca City High School, earned an associates degree in auto mechanics at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee. He served in the Army National Guard and had a career working for Conoco and Citgo Refinery.

Preceding him in death were his parents Glen and Barbara (McKeown) Smith and his brother Francis Smith.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte Smith; three sons and daughters-in-law, Colby and Stacey Smith of Katy, Texas, Brandt and Paige Smith of Portland, Texas and Gavin and Melanie Smith of Aubrey, Texas; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing where viewing will be 1-6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, with the family present from 3-6 p.m. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, at Agra Baptist Church with burial following at Osage Cemetery in Agra.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations to Osage Cemetery or the Agra Senior Citizens Center.
