Raymond Alfred WrightwasbornJanuary 23, 1924, to Everett and Zella (Ralston) Wright, at Agra, Oklahoma. He went to his heavenly home May 6, 2024, at the age of 100 years, three months and 13 days.

We are sad to announce the passing of Charles Elton Roe of Cushing, Oklahoma. Charles passed away at home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer on May 1, 2024. He was born on September 8, 1952, in Cushing to parents Bob and Betty Roe. He graduated from Stroud High School and went on to attend college at Central State University where he received his bachelors degree in 1975. He spent many years working in the oilfield before changing directions and becoming a stockbroker. Years later he opened and ran a grocery store until retirement. During his retirement he enjoyed working on the farm raising cattle and buffalo.

Ralph Edward Gray was bornApril 14, 1940, toWorthyandRuthGray and passed from this life May 7, 2024, at the age of 84. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Carol Barber, and one grandson Jason Brown.

Bobbie Jean Henry (Stanphill) was 89 years young. She was born May 9, 1934, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Sam and Rosie Mae Stanphill. Bobbie was one of nine children with four sisters and four brothers.At the age of 16, she married Sidney Brice Henry. Over their 73-year marriage, Sidney and Bobbie had five wonderful children and built their life in Collinsville, Oklahoma, and Rogers, Arkansas.

Joey May was born on February 16, 1933, in Falmouth,Kentucky.He passed away peacefully in his home on May 2, 2024. Joey married his wife, Donna, in Kentucky.

The murder trials for a Wellston woman and an Iowa man charged in the death of a Carney man have been rescheduled to October, Clyde Dean Clayton, 42, of Sioux City, Iowa and Janelle Berthna Brown, 39, Wellston, were formally charged July 14, 2023 in Lincoln County District Court.

Meeker’s Board of Education this week approved continuing contracts for certified staff, support staff and for extra duty for the 2024-2025 school year.
